Ferguson has a number of historic homes on tree-lined streets, as well as newer, more modern residential areas. With an eclectic mix of Victorian architecture with simplistic ranch structures, there are homes for nearly every taste.

In 1855, William B. Ferguson deeded 10 acres of land to the Wabash Railroad in exchange for a new depot and naming rights. The settlement that sprang up around the depot was called Ferguson Station, and was the forerunner of today’s Ferguson.

Ferguson has easy access to three interstates: 70, 270, and 170. Just minutes east of Lambert St. Louis International airport, it is a great place for business commuters to set up a home.

The City of Ferguson is home to a mix of people, from millennials to the young at heart. The area bodes well for settling down in an area close to the heart of the city, but slightly off the busy path for quiet living. With a focus on strong youth programs, family events and community outreach, this neighborhood continues to grow.

Ferguson Brewing Company, a local micro brewery, is a highlight of the neighborhood. There are also several area restaurants, featuring everything from upscale dining and cafes to local barbecue joints. During the summers, the Ferguson Farmer’s Market is a meeting place for the community providing fresh vegetables and fresh entertainment.

The City of Ferguson sits between two college campuses, St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley and the University of Missouri at St. Louis. The city is served by four school districts: Ferguson-Florissant, Hazelwood, Jennings, and Riverview Gardens.
